Ideal for exposed roofs and walls in tropical climates. It does not replace good ventilation or insulation where needed, but it can improve comfort and reduce air-conditioning load in many buildings.

Why it matters in Panama

Panama’s solar intensity makes the roof a major heat source for homes and warehouses. Spectracool is designed for that reality:

  • More indoor comfort by reducing heat coming through the roof deck.
  • Can lower air-conditioning runtime or intensity in many setups (roof type, shading, and ventilation dependent).
  • Silicone-based film with strong durability against rain and heat cycles.
  • High reflectance: less heat absorbed at the painted surface.
  • Flexible film that tracks expansion and contraction without cracking easily.
  • Surface that tends to stay cleaner as rain helps wash off dust.
What surfaces can you coat?

Clean, dry, and test a small area first if you are unsure. Common substrates:

  • Corrugated zinc and metal sheets
  • Concrete and fiber cement
  • EPDM and compatible membranes (check datasheet)
  • Polyurethane and some waterproofing systems
  • Prepared wood and other supports per technical advice

Application in 5 steps
  1. Remove rust, dust, grease, and loose debris; fix leaks before coating.
  2. Stir or shake the product thoroughly per label instructions.
  3. Apply evenly with brush, roller, or airless sprayer as appropriate.
  4. Best practice: two thin coats (~0.5–0.6 mm dry film per cycle per datasheet).
  5. Let each coat dry fully before the next; avoid ponding water during cure.
Cooler roofs, lighter cooling load

Illustrative example (not a guarantee for every building): when the slab sheds less heat inward, AC may run fewer hours or at lower power.
